Hey guys! My name is Kari and I am a wife of an amazing husband, a momma of 2 teenage boys, and a fur mom of 2 rescue pups that are the cutest things ever. :) I am a California girl stuck in Ohio….a Starbucks lover, a Jesus follower, and a taekwondo blackbelt.
Description of company/business/and or group:
Vita Nova Boutique was born when I felt God calling me to start on a new path. A path that helped women feel beautiful no matter what size or shape they were. Vita Nova means…..NEW LIFE. I thought that was so appropriate and it stuck.
Do you have a mission statement?
I really don’t have a mission statement written out….but my mission really is to help women feel confident in the body God gave them and to feel part of a community of other women that support each other and rally with each other.
What is your key bible verse, either business or personal, and why?
My favorite verse of all time is Jeremiah 29:11. Through my life’s many twists and turns and highs and lows..Jesus has a plan for me and my life. A good plan. A plan to prosper me and not to harm me. I have always taken comfort in that!
What prompted you to create a faith-based business/and or group?
I wouldn’t be anywhere in this life without Jesus guiding me and loving me through thick and thin. He has been so faithful and I want to honor Him in my business not only with the boutique…but with my interactions with the women I come across on a daily basis through the boutique.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Lots of places! Nature, my family, my friends, and other Christian business women out there doing what God has called them to do.
How do you bring God’s Word into your products?
I love finding products that have a God centered message…that is one reason I love this group! It’s amazing how much power there can be in a graphic on a t-shirt. How it can uplift someone that reads it….or even make someone smile.
What is the biggest lesson God has taught you through your business/group?
Trust. Trust Him. Starting a business can be scary! Especially in the boutique world….the competition can be overwhelming. Trying to keep up with what you see others doing. I have had to quiet myself so many times and remind myself not compare myself or my store to anyone elses. That there is room for everyone and it’s not a race.
What encouragement can you share with our readers?
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Stop doubting yourself. Stop picking yourself apart. Stop comparing yourself. Stop letting the lies inside of your head win. The enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants you to feel small in a room full of people so that the light that Jesus placed inside of you is covered. Walk into a room and shine, princess, because you were made in the image of the most high. Start owning your identity in Christ! Start celebrating yourself! Start loving every part of you. Start talking to yourself the same way you would speak to your child. You are loved. You are worthy. You are chosen. And…..you are so so beautiful .
Finally, we would love to continue the cycle of celebrating others who are using their gifts to create products that bring honor to God. What is your favorite Christian shop and why?
One of my favorite Christian shops is Ark and Echo. They are a local store near my house and their love for Jesus is so evident in everything they do and sell. Amazing group of people.
Thank you so much Kari for sharing your amazing boutique with our readers today!
