You may laugh when I tell you my shoe size is the same as my husband's shoe size.  It's a bit embarrassing when I cant find my own running shoes and I use his to running. I've got big feet! Sometimes, it makes finding shoes difficult and makes tripping easy!  When I am running, I sometimes have to focus on my footing so I don't trip and fall completely on my face.
In Psalm 25:15 it says, "If I keep my eyes on God, I won't trip over my own feet."  How amazing is this metaphor for life!
How ridiculous would it be if you ran a race backwards? You could attempt that strategy but it's most likely you would trip because you can't see what is ahead.  Sometimes we get so caught up living in the past, looking in the past, living with past hurts, past lies, past people who have hurt us, we continue to trip up, unable to focus on the present or the future.
At the end of the day, each of us is running a race for eternal purpose.  What kind of race are you running? Are you tired and weak? Are you stumbling over your own feet? Have you lost focus of the prize and end goal?
If we're constantly talking about the past and living in the past, we will miss what God has for us today. Give your past to God today.
