{Spiritual 5}

Even though I know God has been good in the past, I sometimes struggle with having faith and confidence that He will still be good in the future. This is because I forget to fix my eyes on Jesus and have confidence in his Word.  When I do fix my eyes on Jesus I see that my problems are nothing in comparison to him. God can do anything. He can change mine, and your, circumstances in an instant. Just as Jesus said, “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). No matter how bad our situation is, God can turn it around.

The urban dictionary defines 'godfidence' as this, a) a feeling or consciousness of God's power or reliance on God's promises.

b)  faith or belief that God will act in a right, proper, or effective way

....

Hang with me here while I mention this beautiful passage written by David in Psalm 27;

1) "Light, space, zest-- that's God! So, with him on my side I 'm fearless, afraid of no one and nothing.

2) When vandal hordes ride down ready to eat me alive, Those bullies and toughs fall flat on their faces.

3) When I am besieged, I 'm calm as a baby, When all hell breaks loose, I'am collected and cool...

4) I'm asking God for one thing; to live with him in his house my whole life long. I'll contemplate his beauty; I'll study at his feet.

5) That's the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway far from the buzz of traffic.

6) God holds me head and shoulders above all who try to pull me down.  I'm headed for his place to offer anthems that will raise the roof! Already I'm singing God-songs; I'm making music to God.

7-9) Listen, God, I'm calling at the top of my lungs; "Be good to me! Answer me!" When my heart whispered, "Seek God," my whole being replied, "Im seeking him!" Don't hide from me now!

9-10) You've always been right there for me; don't turn your back on me now. Don't throw me out, don't abandon me; you've always kept the door open. My father and mother walked out and left me, but God took me in.

11-12) Point me down your highway, God; direct me along a well-lighted street; show my enemies who's side you're on. Don't throw me out to the dogs, those liars who are out to get me, filling the air with their threats.

13-14) I'm sure now I'll see God's goodness in the exuberant part.

Stay with God! Take heart. Don't quit. I'll say it again, Stay with God.

A major truth takeaway from this passage is this; Fixing our eyes on JESUS because He is the PERFECTER of our faith and the confidence of our lives.

The key is to have faith and trust in Him. Easier said than done sometimes right?! These are the things that I’m doing to help me grow in my faith.

HOW TO HAVE GODFIDENCE:

#1. Reading scripture that shows me the faithfulness of God.

#2. Spending time in worship so my focus shifts from my problems to promises of God..

#3. Praying out my fears to God.

#4. Sharing my struggles with Christian friends and family so they can encourage me and pray for me.

#5 Remembering that my confidence doesn't come from people or things but from being a royal daughter of the Most High God.

#6 Remembering my worth is not determined by other's perceptions me but by the godfidence that I have in the One who delights in me.
