Say hello to our readers!
Hello lovelies, I am Kristin Lemus founder of Brave Moms. Brave Moms is a ministry to help moms overcome weariness and become the mom they dream of being. I am a wife of 21 years and a mom to 6 kids ages 10 to 20. Brave Moms was founded out of my own journey from weariness and feeling overwhelmed to learning what God’s heart for me as a mom is. We have 3 small groups that meet in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas, a website and a magazine and podcast that are coming soon.
Description of company/business/and or group:
A ministry for moms to help them overcome weariness and become the mom they dream of being.
Do you have a mission statement?
Brave Moms exists to richly encourage moms and help them to understand what God’s heart is for them. We equip moms to stand strong and overcome fear and weariness. We do this by meeting moms where they are at online, in small groups, in their mailboxes and on their phones.
What is your key bible verse, either business or personal, and why?
When God was first speaking to me about His heart for moms He gave me Joshua 1:9 which says: “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” He spoke to my heart that those words are His heart for moms and we often miss
that He wants to make us strong and courageous, help us overcome fear and learn to leave weariness (dismay) behind.
Where do you find your inspiration?
From God’s Word because His heart for us as moms is so beautiful. He is so for us and longs to encourage us in the hard work that is motherhood.
What encouragement can you share with our readers?
God says that you are a good mom. When He made the first women He saw all that she was and what she was capable of (including motherhood) and knew that His design was very good. As moms we can have a tendency to believe that we are doing a bad job or missing the mark. Pay attention to what you are believing and confessing though. If God says you are a good mom and you believe it and confess it over your life you will begin to become it. The enemy is sneaky with his lies and he often starts with moms by telling us we are doing a bad job or that we are overwhelmed.
Finally, we would love to continue the cycle of celebrating others who are using their gifts to create products that bring honor to God. What is your favorite Christian shop and why?
Ruth Simmons from Gracelaced, Amy from Evy’s Tree, and Nickel & Suede.
Thank you so very much Kristen for sharing your heart for moms everywhere! I absolutely love your ministry and what you are doing for God's Kingdom!
XO, Brit
