"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:13-14

We've all heard this popular verse but do we really believe it?

When my kids start talking down about themselves, for whatever reason, maybe they are repeating something back that a kid a school said to them, maybe they are being especially hard on themselves that day, or maybe they are just repeating something they heard me say about myself-  I stop them there right in their tracks. I put them in front of the mirror and have them say positive things about themselves. I do that because I understand the power of words and how others' words can easily skew their view of themselves.   When they forget who they are, I help remind them their self-worth, who they and where they came from.  Maybe I should have my kids stand me in front of the mirror and repeat a few of the same things...

Don't we all need those reminders from time to time? Even before you were born, you were set apart for good.  You are made in God's image. His designs are so good! He doesn't make mistakes.

How does this verse resonate with you? Spend a few moments today writing down specific qualities that make you unique. Write out a prayer of gratitude and thank the Lord today how amazing His creations are!
