Day 3: Have Freedom from Past Hurts

We all have a past. You have a past, I have a past, and our past experiences are all unique in their own ways. If you have every been hurt or wronged by someone in your past, reconciliation and forgiveness is the only way to move forward. Trust me, no one said this would be easy. In fact, it may be the hardest thing you ever do. I’m leaning about this in my personal life right now! However, I have learned, that to have reconciliation with a person and find healing in a situation, we (I) have to learn to drop it. I once heard someone say this, "Forgive your enemies! Nothing annoys them more!" I thought it was an interesting statement because there was a bit of humor within the statement, sandwiched with truth. Don't let past relationships or past hurts dictate the course of your life. If you do, it will only hurt you, not the other person. God is fixing the broken pieces in your life, but it has to start with us. We can't connect with God well until we first learn to let it go, drop it, forgive, and move on. This will give way for RESTORATION in your life!

Matthew 5:9,"Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God"

Lord, just as You so generously forgive me, help me to also forgive others. Search my heart and help me not keep any form of hate, anger, resentment or bitterness within me. Instead, replace those feelings in my heart with love and compassion. Amen.
