What are some things that scare you? What are some things that you are afraid of?  What are some things that you struggle overcoming?

I remember my freshman year in college I took a speech class. It shouldn't have been that surprising when my professor announced to the class that we would be standing up in front of everyone and giving a speech for a grade. I was absolutely terrified. When it was my turn to give my speech, I remember standing there, hands shaking, legs trembling, teeth chattering, sweating profusely- the whole nine yards. I remember feeling like I was hyperventilating and I am very surprised that I didn't black out! It was so awful! Somehow, I made it through that speech, passed the class, but I will never forget that feeling of being absolutely paralyzed with fear.

You see, by now, you can probably guess what my one of my biggest fears in life includes.  Yes, it is public speaking.  I would rather jump out of an airplane than stand up and talk in front of a group of people. What I find so ironic though, is that recently, I was asked to be a speaker for the third time.  Two times prior, I passed on the opportunity because I let the fear influence me, dictate my decision, and hold me back. This time, I chose to say yes. Why? Because I know with all of my heart , God is pressing me to get outside my comfort zone, not play it safe anymore, put on my big girl britches, and to be bold for His kingdom.

God told Joshua three times to be strong and courageous, to be bold when leading His people into the Promise Land.  He said “yes” and did just that.

What would you do if you were ten times bolder? If there is just one thing that you can think of that you would do, but you haven't done yet, I would submit that you have allowed fear to influence you like it did me.

Some people are waiting for the stars to line up and for the circumstances to be right before they do something risky or scary.  I can tell you this truth today; the stars will never line up if that is what you are waiting for. The only way the stars are going to line up is when you line up with up with what God has put on your heart to do.  The longer you wait, the bigger the fears and giants in your life will get. Don't think, run to the battle, be bold and courageous, and face your giant today.

So here's your challenge for today. What is one thing that you could do today to be more bold? What is something that you haven't been able to overcome in the past simply because you have let fear get in your way?  Is it starting a blog? Writing a book? Starting a group? Going back to school? Starting a new business? Speaking in front of people? Journal those thoughts down and ask God to take the fear away today, and be bold for His kingdom once and for all.

{Journal 5}: Write down 5 things you are grateful for this Monday morning! I am so GRATEFUL for the amazing event I was able to be apart of just yesterday. Myself, my husband, and my two children were baptized together, as a family, for all the world to see. It absolutely took boldness and not letting fear hold us back as we took that step of faith together and marked a new milestone in our faith as a family.

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, if not those who disobeyed. So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
