No one likes a bragger. The one who is always talking about what they did, they're accomplishments, they're successes all the time, or how they know everything. Don't get me wrong, its fun to celebrate others, but when there is a desire to constantly be praised or to be known for what you do, what you know, or what you look like, you have to ask yourself why.
Let us not forget, we were made in the image of God, who counts inner beauty more valuable than what we do or what we look like. 1 Peter 3:5, 'Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."
Psalm 147:6 says, 'The Lord lifts up the humble."
Do you want to stand out in your business? In the crowd? Be humble. Don't be arrogant and proud. Prideful people often fall. Being humble is best of all.
Lord, help me when I pretend to be more important than I really am. I am so glad you see me for me, no matter my successes or what I look like. Thankyou that you love me even though I am not perfect.
Romans 12:3 says, "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought., but rather thing of yourself with sober judgement."
This is what humility is-it's recognizing who we really are- imperfect people.
Many Blessings,
