Day 16: Vent Less, Pray More

Jesus told us that in this world, we would have trouble (John 16:33). Getting hurt is apart of life.

Some of us are natural fighters. It's not always a bad thing, but it can be unhealthy. I know I'am one of those people.  Growing up, I came from an emotionally abusive home.  I remember always being the one to have to stand up for the one being picked on. It's almost as if I had a sword at my side just waiting for the enemy to come my way, then I would attack.

Many of us go through some kind of relational hurt or challenge. The kind of hurt where you want to raise your sword and fight for yourself.

Whatever challenge you have faced or are facing, know that it is a distraction designed by the enemy to watch you fall flat on your face. He wants to get you so flustered, so angry, so resentful, that you get off track and lose focus. Don't feel like you have vent to everyone the details of what is going on in your situation. Keep your focus on God and let Him handle it. Dont' get on the same level with those who hurt you. Let God handle it. Pray more and let God handle it. If you just call on Him, step aside, and let Him work, He will work it out in ways you could never have imagined. Pray more and let Him handle it!

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Matthew 11:28," Come to me, all who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest."

"God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called children of God" Matt 5:9.

Father, when I am hurt by others, help me to forget the sting and remember how You so graciously restore me. Thank you that I can pray to You and you help carry my burdens. You give me the rest I need. Thank you that your grace and thank you that Your Word promises brighter days tomorrow!

Amen.

Many Blessings,

Brit
